Florida marijuana law complex: Confusion may spur legal trouble

If you do any amount of traveling throughout Florida or the rest of the United States, you likely already understand that as you go from state to state, you may encounter various types of laws pertaining to similar topics. For instance, laws regarding theft may vary by state. The laws regarding marijuana have a lot of people confused nowadays.

The bottom line is that the federal government considers all use of marijuana, from manufacturing it, purchasing, selling or actually using the drug, illegal. The problem is that the laws in many states conflict with federal law. In fact, some states have legalized all use of marijuana, even that which is considered recreational. Florida's marijuana laws are a bit complex.

It used to be that only very low-THC cannabis could be used for a very limited group of medical patients. Such laws have been amended and now state that medical use of marijuana is permitted for those with debilitating health conditions who have certification of their conditions by licensed physicians and who carry the necessary ID cards for obtaining and using the drug. Various types of illness and disease qualify as debilitating conditions; however, a particular condition must be on the approved list of conditions in order to qualify.

You can see how marijuana laws may cause confusion among populations in various states. Misunderstanding of a particular state's laws or the federal government's ability to override state law when a federal issue is at hand can lead to serious legal problems. Rogo Law is fully prepared to act on behalf of any person accused of marijuana or other drug crimes in Florida.
