Criminal defense may be needed re Florida police investigation

Florida police are not offering a lot of information about an ongoing investigation at this time. They recently raided medical offices in Jacksonville and surrounding regions. Authorities have stated that there are doctors suspected of fraud and drug crimes. If the situations leads to arrests and charges, strong criminal defense will likely be needed to avoid convictions.

Local law enforcement as well as federal and state agencies have been participating in the recent criminal investigation. Search warrants were apparently served on a recent Wednesday at several medical facilities as part of the investigation. Although police have not named specific suspects, they have said that those involved are believed guilty of health care fraud and also illegal drug activities.

In either situation, if any of those involved were to face formal criminal charges, it would undoubtedly impact their personal, and professional lives. In fact, other Florida doctors who have faced similar suspicions in the past have had their licenses to practice medicine called into question. Overcoming such obstacles in court is often a complicated and grueling process, and one that is best navigated alongside savvy professional help.

This is  why most Florida defendants seek immediate criminal defense assistance, often before any charges have been filed. If a person believes he or she is the subject of a criminal investigation, it is enough to warrant a consultation with an experienced attorney. Early proactive decisions like this are often key to successful outcomes. An investigation in no way constitutes guilt; neither do criminal charges. Defendants are presumed innocent unless proved otherwise in court and beyond a reasonable doubt.
