Mysterious tablets sent to lab in connection with drug charges

Two young adults from Panama City Beach will likely have their work cut out for them as they fight against recent charges filed on suspicion of illegal drug activity. It all began when police showed up at their home, apparently with a warrant to search the premises. Florida authorities say they seized several types of illegal drugs during the search, as well as some items of mysterious nature as well. Arrests were made and drug charges filed following the incident.

Investigators claim they found nearly 3,000 pills and tablets throughout the residence. More than 800 of them, however, have been sent out to a laboratory for further identification. Police say the tablets were stamped with Xanax labels, but the alleged drugs do not appear to have been made in a drug factory.

One man, age 26, and a woman, age 21, were arrested following the search. They are each now charged with various counts of drug trafficking with intent to distribute, possession of paraphernalia and other serious drug-related crimes. To further complicate matters, police also claim they found heroin, marijuana, cocaine, methamphetamine and several firearms on the premises.

One of the first things a person facing drug charges in Florida usually worries about is whether the situation will lead to time in prison. Many people want to fight the charges against them but are unsure where to turn for help. Since the law presumes every person's innocence unless proved otherwise in court, a person may seek defense assistance by requesting meeting with an experienced criminal attorney in the area.
