Man in Florida facing serious drug charges

A recent Tuesday was most likely not a particularly good day for one man in Florida. This is because an incident occurred that landed him behind bars, facing very serious drug charges. In fact, local authorities have since accused him of being at the heart of the largest heroin bust in the agency's history.

The man was still in jail the following day after police claim they found more than one pound of heroin mixed with fentanyl at a particular residence. They say they also seized two firearms and more than $8,000. The 31-year-old man who was arrested in connection with the investigation is thought to be a career drug salesman and is said to be a convicted felon.

The defendant was apparently arrested in November, as well. At that time, he was eventually released after posting bail. That situation was also said to involve heroin. The new charges against him include unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of marijuana and other drug paraphernalia and trafficking of heroin.

Police say the heroin they took from the residence was enough to supply at least 6,000 hits. This is obviously not the first, nor will it be the last time drug charges will be filed against someone in Florida. In every case, a defendant has the right to hire experienced defense assistance to try to mitigate circumstances as much as possible. Every situation is different; therefore, one of the first things an attorney can do is explain what types of defense options are available in a particular situation.
