Florida man facing drug charges after cops raid his home

A recent drug raid that led to arrest is being called one of the largest marijuana busts in Florida history. Police raided a man's home and claim to have discovered an elaborate, top-grade marijuana growing operation. The man now faces drug charges in connection with the incident.

Deputies claim the drugs they seized carry a street value of nearly $7 million. There were allegedly more than 200 plants being cultivated in the man's home. It appears six different rooms had been portioned off and insulated to create a type of "marijuana farm" throughout the house.

One officer said it was the most elaborate marijuana operation he had ever seen. He also claimed the drugs that were seized weighed at least 2,000 pounds. The man who was taken into custody is being held in a county jail without bond.

The 46-year-old faces drug charges that include renting or owning a residence used for trafficking a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, cultivating marijuana and other offenses. Prosecutors tend to be very aggressive in these types of situations. Individual outcomes often depend on the type of defense presented in court. For this reason, many people in Florida who have faced drug charges in the past have enlisted the help of an experienced defense attorney who is used to going to battle against tenacious prosecutors. To build as strong a defense as possible, the best first step is to consult a criminal lawyer with an extensive background defending clients against these types of charges.
