Teacher in Florida accused of sex crimes

When a teacher in Florida or any other state is accused of inappropriate behavior toward a student, entire communities tend to sit up and take notice. When accusations involve possible sex crimes, the negative impact of the situation may immediately cause damage to the teacher's reputation, even before charges have been filed. One female substitute teacher, age 28, is currently facing such issues after being accused of luring a male student to her apartment.

The woman is said to have used Snapchat to trade messages with a16-year-old male student. At some point, she allegedly invited him to her home. Police say what happened next included the woman serving the boy vodka. He reportedly drank it and said he felt intoxicated.

Authorities claim the two may have watched a movie together and engaged in sexual activity. The substitute teacher reportedly drove the boy home after their encounter. She has since been arrested and charged with unlawful sexual acts with a minor. She also faces charges of contributing to delinquency of a minor.

Being charged with sex crimes as a professional in Florida who works with children is obviously a serious matter. Anyone accused of similar crimes may defend themselves by retaining immediate help from an experienced criminal attorney. The outcome of a particular situation may bear significant impact on one's personal and professional future; therefore, it is typically best to make use of every available resource to present as strong a defense as possible so as to minimize the potential long-term negative effects of the incident.
