Officer working against child predators accused of sex crimes

A situation has developed in Florida that includes a law enforcement supervisor who has been accused of criminal acts. The man had reportedly been working in a department that investigates possible child predator activity online. He himself has now been formally charged with sex crimes.

A department superior stated the allegations are being taken very seriously. He further expressed disappointment to learn that charges have been filed against a member of the department. The supervisor in question has apparently been placed on administrative leave while the situation is being investigated. Thus far, it is known that two boys of minor ages have accused him of inappropriate acts against them.

Each boy says the other one was present when the supposed abuses took place. Since the supervisor worked in a department that investigates possible child predator situations, he had access to pornography online. However, his superiors have stated that any contact he may have had with children during the course of his duties would have occurred in strictly controlled environments.

Currently, the man is being held in a Florida jail on $1.5 million bond. Whether he is returned to his duties depends on the results of the impending investigation. Reportedly, those who work in the particular department in question undergo regular background and psychological screenings to retain their positions. Merely being accused of sex crimes can cause substantial harm to a person's reputation, even before an investigation is concluded. In order to build as strong a defense as possible, a person accused can seek immediate assistance from a criminal attorney who has defended others in similar situations.
