Drug charges lead to hashtag message on Twitter

Millions of people use social network sites to share various activities in their daily lives. Many professionals make use of such venues as valuable marketing tools, including law enforcement personnel. It should come as no surprise, then, that a Florida police department recently tweeted a cryptic message related to drug charges filed after a recent bust.

Two alleged drug dealers are now facing serious charges after the recent drug operation conducted by the North Port Police Department. The men are ages 26 and 28. Twitter users following tweets from the NPPD may have seen a cryptic sort of hashtag related to the incident, which read: not me thin around.

The message appears to be referring to the 80 grams of methamphetamine authorities say were seized in their recent drug raid. Police also tweeted about thousands of dollars worth of ammunition, as well as xanax, cocaine, marijuana, scales and other drug-related items supposedly seized during the bust. One of the men involved is accused of possession of a firearm/ammunition as a felon.

The North Port Police Department's Twitter account actually mentioned one of the men by name and listed the charges against him. Those charges include selling controlled substances and possession of narcotics equipment. Florida authorities often launch operations focused on taking illegal drugs off the streets. Anyone facing drug charges related to heroin, meth or other illegal narcotics can be sure that fighting against such charges will be quite challenging. It is often best to secure assistance from an experienced criminal defense attorney before proceeding to court.
