Florida woman accused of drunk driving

Many individuals may appreciate the gesture when another person stops and asks if they need assistance. However, if a person is approached by a police officer and then accused of drunk driving, the situation may take a different turn. Rather than wondering whether he or she could return the kindness of assisting someone else, the driver could end up exploring legal options.

One woman in Florida may be looking into criminal defense options and other legal avenues after recently being taken into custody. Reports stated that her vehicle had been stopped in the emergency lane of Interstate 95 when a police officer purportedly stopped to ask if she needed assistance. However, after approaching the driver, the officer apparently suspected she was under the influence.

This suspicion resulted in the officer reportedly having the driver participate in field sobriety tests. The woman allegedly did not pass the tests and supposedly resisted arrest when officers tried to take her into custody. Reports also stated that the woman purportedly admitted later to having had drinks and taken prescription medication before driving. Her toddler-aged child was apparently also in the vehicle at the time of the arrest.

Because the woman has been accused of drunk driving, she may wish to find out more information on how she may handle her legal predicament. Gaining knowledge of Florida criminal proceedings relating to DUI may help her better understand what proceedings she may go through as her case moves forward. Additionally, she may find discussing her case with an experienced defense attorney helpful in her endeavor to effectively take care of the situation.
