Florida man and woman facing felonies after domestic dispute

Charges leveled against individuals accused of being involved in criminal activities can have varying degrees of severity. Felonies could potentially come with more severe consequences than misdemeanor charges if convictions take place. Therefore, individuals facing such allegations may wish to work toward determining their best options for potentially combating felony charges by creating and presenting a criminal defense.

Two individuals in Florida may be looking into such options after they were recently charged. Reports stated that police were called to a home after an alleged domestic argument took place. The woman involved in the incident was at the home, and deputies noticed that a fork was stuck in her hand as if she had been stabbed. The woman stated that she and the man had gotten into an argument, and during the argument, she purportedly hit him with a fast food burrito, and he stabbed her with a fork.

The man had left the home after the reported incident, and police found him at a local bar. The man purportedly stated that he and the woman had a history of domestic violence. As a result of the situation, the man is facing a second-degree felony aggravated battery charge, and the woman faces a third-degree felony battery charge.

It is likely that the man and woman will each want to find effective ways to handle the felonies that have been leveled against them. Information on their specific charges and how those charges are processed in a Florida court may help them determine which legal routes they may wish to follow. Creating meaningful criminal defenses against the allegations may be a path they are interested in, and consulting with experienced attorneys may help them move forward accordingly.
