4 face drug charges in Florida

Four individuals in Florida were recently arrested on charges related to drugs. Their drug charges came after police reportedly discovered that they were selling drugs out of one daycare center in the state. Each of the four individuals faces a lengthy list of charges.

Police said the daycare center where drugs were being sold was run out of a home. After they searched the home, police allegedly found drug equipment and cannabis about one foot to two feet from a play pin for a child. Police said they also found a water bong/glass smoking device that was within the reach of kids.

According to authorities, the drug PCP was additionally being sold from this home daycare center. The woman who runs the center has been charged with possessing cannabis and drug equipment as well as child neglect. Her son has been charged with possessing PCP, cannabis and drug equipment. Meanwhile, the woman's daughter was charged with possessing Xanax. Finally, a friend of the family was charged with possessing cannabis as well as attempting to destroy evidence after police said he attempted to flush evidence down the toilet.

People facing drug charges in Florida can go to trial if they believe that this is in their best interests. Prosecutors at trial have to prove the charges by relevant evidence; otherwise, a criminal conviction is not possible. In some situations, the weight of the possible evidence suggests that it is necessary to pursue negotiations for a plea deal. If available, a plea agreement might lead to more lenient of a sentence from the court in Florida.
