Investigation leads to charges for felonies

From visiting beautiful beaches to participating in a vibrant, local nightlife, vacationers often become temporary fixtures of everyday Floridian landscapes. Alongside this jovial atmosphere, however, there's a darker side at hand -- one that involves an apparently serious drug epidemic. In fact, nine people were recently arrested and charged with various felonies that are drug-related.

As is often the case in these types of situations, numerous law enforcement agencies from different Florida regions combined efforts in an extensive investigation.  Seven people in one county wound up being arrested, and two others in another county. All are now scheduled for arraignments in local circuit courts in the near future. Authorities in New Hampshire are also said to have cooperated in the task force operation.

Charges against the nine defendants range from possession of controlled substances to trafficking and purchasing of the same. Some of those arrested were able to post bail and were released from jail, awaiting arraignment. Others were not able to do so and remain behind bars at this time.

The ages of those recently charged with drug-related felonies in Florida range from 24 to 57. Typically, one of the first things people in such situations might do is request assistance from experienced defense attorneys. Although multiple people may face similar charges in incidents that are connected, it doesn't necessarily mean their individual defense strategies will be the same. What amounts to a strong defense for one person may not be such a good idea for another. An attorney can help a defendant explore personal options and determine how best to proceed to fight charges in court.
