Police say men had heroin and other drugs

It has been reported that Florida police officers approached two men in a vehicle after watching them interact with someone in another car moments earlier. The officers claim they had reason to believe the two cars were parked alongside one another because occupants were conducting a drug deal. As the situation unfolded, police say they found drugs, including heroin pills.

After one of the cars left the scene, police approached two men in the second vehicle. They say they saw one man pass a small baggie to the other man, who then stuffed the baggie down his pants. Authorities continued their investigation of the situation, claiming the also smelled burnt marijuana inside the vehicle.

At some point, police say the found more than 90 heroin pills inside a baggie one of the men had tried to conceal in his buttocks. They also allege to have seized more than $2,000 in cash, as well as marijuana. Both men now face charges for heroin trafficking and drug possession.

A Florida defense attorney can help someone facing heroin charges or other illegal drug accusations. To begin with, the lawyer can investigate the details of any search or seizure that took place, as well as the arrest and booking processes. Police officers do not have full rein with regard to what they say and do in such circumstances. There is strict protocol governing their actions, and a defense attorney who determines that a defendant's personal rights have been violated may challenge any proffered evidence as inadmissible in court.
