Cocaine possession, other charges leveled against Florida man

One man in Florida may be looking into his legal options after recently being taken into custody. Reports stated that authorities conducted a search of the man's home, though the reason was unclear. It was noted that they had a warrant for the search. As a result, authorities purportedly found cocaine and other drugs and paraphernalia in the home.

Apparently, when authorities showed up at the home, the man and another individual tried to run away. The man attempted to discard a box that he was reportedly carrying, but it was retrieved by police. The box allegedly contained cocaine and heroin. The man was apparently apprehended near the residence. The other individual purportedly evaded police and had not been located at the time of the report.

The search of the home allegedly resulted in police finding synthetic marijuana, heroin, crack cocaine, pills and drug paraphernalia. They also reportedly found a handgun and two types of ammunition. The situation has resulted in the man being charged with possession with intent for the cocaine, heroin and pills, and a charge of resisting arrest was also leveled against him. It was noted that additional charges were possible.

In order to address the cocaine possession and other charges brought against him, the man will undoubtedly want to determine which criminal defense options may best suit his circumstances. The specific details of his case may impact which avenues he feels most comfortable pursuing, and in order to better understand those options, he may wish to seek reliable information. An experienced Florida attorney could help him assess his case and provide valuable insight.
