Florida man's criminal defense may help with criminal charges

Defending against criminal allegations is a right that all Florida residents possess. One man may soon be working his own criminal defense after being taken into custody. Reports stated that the arrest came after the man called police due to his cousin suffering a gunshot wound. Apparently, both men were involved in the incident.

Reports stated that the cousin was purportedly wearing a flak jacket, an outdated military vest used to reduce shrapnel damage. The two wondered whether the vest could stop a bullet. After the cousin voiced this question, the man reportedly pulled out a gun and fired a round at the cousin. The vest did not stop the bullet, and as a result, the cousin was seriously wounded. The man allegedly called police and said that he found his cousin with the wound.

The report stated that witnesses told the authorities what allegedly happened, and police purportedly found the vest and blood inside the house. The cousin was taken from the scene, but he succumbed to the wound at the hospital. As a result, the man was taken into custody and charged with manslaughter.

This type of criminal charge could have significant impacts on the man if he is convicted. In order to work toward an outcome with which he is comfortable, the man may wish to assess and review the details of his case and the allegations brought against him. His legal counsel can provide ongoing assistance during such endeavors and the creation of the man's criminal defense. The man may also find out more useful information on Florida criminal proceedings relating to his case.
