Woman charged with drunk driving in Florida

There may be instances in a person's life where his or her decisions may lead to some unfortunate consequences. In some cases, a person's perceived actions could lead to the filing of criminal charges. If an individual is accused of drunk driving, there could be serious repercussions if a conviction takes place. Therefore, it is likely that an accused party will want to explore criminal defense options.

One woman in Florida may be hoping to find out how to best handle her case after a recent incident. Reports stated that the woman had been stopped by police for purportedly driving in an erratic manner. The stop took place around 2 a.m. after authorities allegedly saw the woman's vehicle almost strike another one. After being stopped, the woman apparently tried to rouse a sleeping passenger, but the individual was reportedly too intoxicated. As a result, the driver allegedly tried to flee the scene on foot.

An officer reportedly caught up to the woman and took her into custody. While at the jail, officers purportedly attempted to conduct a breath test, but the woman allegedly crammed part of her shirt in her mouth and began to chew on it. The incident resulted in her being charged with drunk driving and fleeing police.

In order to address her drunk driving and fleeing charges, the woman may wish to become more knowledgeable on what those charges could mean for her. This information may help her to better understand the potential consequences of the allegations should a conviction take place and how she may be able to combat those formal accusations. In addition to that information, the woman may also wish to find out more about Florida criminal court proceedings and the manner in which her case will proceed through the court system.
