Marijuana charge, other allegations leveled against Florida teen

Facing serious charges at a young age could lead to complications throughout a person's life. As a result, an individual facing allegations of marijuana possession and other charges may wish to determine what legal options may be in his or her best interests. Luckily, information regarding those options is readily available for interested parties.

One 19-year-old man in Florida may be working to learn more about his choices after recently being taken into custody. Reports stated that the teen had been on school property when a resource officer apparently believed that the student smelled of marijuana. The officer and another school official went to the student's vehicle and searched the car. It was noted that the vehicle also purportedly smelled like marijuana.

During the search, the officer allegedly found two weapons inside the vehicle, described as a folding knife and a machete-type sword. In addition to the weapons, it was also reported that drug paraphernalia and marijuana residue were found. The student was taken into custody on charges for weapons possession, drug paraphernalia and having less than 20 grams of marijuana. His bond was set at $15,000.

In order to work on handling the marijuana, weapons and other charges brought against him, the young man may wish to learn more about how those charges may be handled in the Florida criminal justice system. By gathering this information, he may better understand his predicament and what he may face as his case proceeds. Additionally, he may wish to discuss his case with his legal counsel in order to gain further legal insight.
