Former Florida officer facing marijuana charges

Many individuals have likely heard throughout their lives that their actions have consequences. Whether those outcomes are good or bad may depend on the situation, but in some cases, parties may be able to work toward an outcome they hope to achieve by putting forth certain efforts. If individuals are facing criminal charges due to marijuana possession, they may be able to create and present a meaningful defense in hopes of combating those charges.

One man in Florida may be considering his defense options after recently being charged. Reports stated that the man was a police officer who has since resigned from his position after facing allegations of drug use. The man had apparently been under investigation before the arrest took place due to suspicion of using marijuana.

The investigation purportedly led authorities to find the man inside his patrol cruiser with marijuana, rolling papers and other drug paraphernalia. As a result, the man was taken into custody on drug possession charges. It was noted that police did not have evidence that the man was using marijuana while he was on police duty.

As the man's criminal case moves forward, he may wish to request any evidence the prosecution may have against him. This information may help him determine how he would like to handle his case and potentially prepare a defense against the marijuana possession charges. Discussing his situation and options with an experienced attorney may also help him understand his case and what legal routes may work in his best interests as his case moves through the Florida criminal justice system.
