Florida man may wish to learn more about cocaine charge

Some individuals may find themselves in situations and wonder how they got in that predicament. Sometimes, the actions of others could put a person in the line of fire, and that individual may find him or herself facing legal action. If individuals are charged for possession of cocaine or other drug-related violations, they may wish to explore their criminal defense options.

One man in Florida may be taking such action after recently being taken into custody. Reports stated that the man was approached by police after they were purportedly informed that a man was sleeping in a stairwell. After approaching the man, police found that he was asleep and rolled him over. They allegedly found a plastic bag containing a white powder in the man's mouth.

Authorities suspected that the powder was crack cocaine. When questioned, the man -- who was reported as being 45 years old -- stated that the suspected drugs were not his and that he did not know how they came to be in his mouth. Nonetheless, the man was taken into custody, and he is facing a charge for cocaine possession.

Due to the circumstances surrounding the incident, the man will likely want to learn more about creating and presenting a criminal defense against the allegations brought against him. Information on how cocaine possession charges are handled in the Florida criminal justice system may help him better understand what legal proceedings he may face as his case moves forward. Furthermore, he may wish to consult with his legal counsel in order to potentially gain useful insight into his particular predicament.
