Man arrested on drug charges after visiting bar

One man in Florida was recently charged with committing a drug crime. The arrest on drug charges took place after the man had paid a visit to a bar. It took place at about 11:30 p.m. on a Friday.

Police said a deputy that night noticed that the vehicle of a particular man was in a bar parking lot. The deputy then recalled that three active warrants had been issued for the man's arrest. The deputy entered the bar and found the man there; he then arrested the individual.

While searching the man, 39, police said they discovered a straw in one of his pockets. The man reportedly told police that he had used this straw for the purpose of snorting cocaine about five minutes prior. Authorities said they tested the substance in the straw, and the substance did test positive for the drug. The man was charged with possessing cocaine as well as possessing drug paraphernalia.

The man can proceed directly to trial to defend his innocence, or he may be given the chance to strike a plea deal with prosecutors. A plea agreement may offer the benefit of a lighter sentence than what would be imposed if the man were to be found guilty at trial. Either way, the criminal defense team will pursue an outcome that is in the best interests of the defendant. Anybody in Florida who is facing drug charges has the right to defend himself or herself and to take full advantage of the legal protections guaranteed to him or her under state law.
